We Haven’t Got A Clue… So We Booked a Campervan Around Italy 🇮🇹🚐

 Well… this escalated quickly. 😂

A little while ago, we decided we fancied doing something different.

Instead of booking a hotel, sitting around a pool and knowing roughly what every day would look like, we decided to hire a campervan and spend 15 days travelling around Italy.

Neither of us has done anything like this before.

We haven’t travelled Italy in a campervan. We don’t really know how campsites work. We’re still figuring out where we’re going to park the bloody thing half the time.

So naturally, we thought we’d document it. 😂

And that’s how We Haven’t Got A Clue started.

🚐 The campervan is booked

We’ve booked our campervan with Indie Campers and on 3 September we’re flying to Italy, picking it up and starting the adventure.

The rough plan takes us through some incredible places — Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii, Rome, Tuscany, Bologna, Lake Como and eventually back towards Venice.

We’ve planned quite a bit.

Whether any of it actually goes to plan is another matter.

✈️ And then we upgraded the flight home…

Apparently spending two weeks living in a campervan wasn’t enough of a contrast.

We’ve upgraded our flight home from economy to Business Class.

So we’ll basically go from campervan life, campsites, questionable parking decisions and living out of bags… to sitting at the front of the plane pretending we’re sophisticated. 😂

💻 Then this happened

While planning Italy we started talking about documenting the trip properly.

One conversation led to another and suddenly we’re creating Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook accounts — and building the website you’re reading right now.

Neither of us has done this before either.

Which probably explains the name.

❤️ What We Haven’t Got A Clue is actually about

This isn’t going to be one of those websites where we pretend everything is perfect.

If somewhere is brilliant, we’ll tell you.

If something is overpriced, we’ll tell you.

If we find an amazing restaurant, campsite or place to visit, we’ll share it.

And when we inevitably get lost, book something ridiculous or make a complete balls-up of something…

you’ll probably see that too.

We’ll share the real costs, the good decisions, the bad decisions and whether we’d actually do something again.

And it won’t stop with Italy.

Travel, food, family, friends, days out and whatever else sounds like fun at the time.

We’re not experts.

We’re just having a go.

🇮🇹 First stop: Italy

So this is officially Post Number One.

The website exists. The campervan is booked. The flights are booked. The route is taking shape.

Now we just need to actually do it.

Life’s for living. We’re doing it anyway. ❤️
